Pentney Abbey Kings Lynn

Emma & James

Both Em and her mum Lorraine found me on the internet separately but on the same day – this must have been fate!

I had the pleasure of meeting them both, along with James a couple of weeks after they got in touch and it was just like visiting friends of old. We chatted for over an hour about the wedding plans and how they’d found me, it was a lovely evening spent with super nice people.

We went to the coast on a fairly chilly day for their pre-wedding shoot and straight away it was like three friends going for a walk and I just happened to have my camera with me!

That was it really, a friendship sealed and lots of excited people looking forward to their wedding at Pentney Abbey in June!

I arrived at the venue that day to be greeted by Em’s dad Gary, who was beyond excited and couldn’t wait to show me around the place as it was my first time there. I was offered food and drinks all morning, constantly checked on to ensure I was alright and made to feel more like a guest!

Alicia of Lily Jayne Florists was there busy making the gatehouse look pretty and delivering Em and her bridesmaids stunning bouquets.

It was time for Em to get into her beautiful Monsoon wedding dress and for Gary to get his first glimpse of his only daughter all ready for her big day. After some family portraits it was time for him to walk Em to marry James.

I knew once this pair got together there would be even more laughs than ever and I wasn’t wrong! After they laughed their way through the ceremony there was plenty of time for groups shots, canapés and a ribbon walk through – a very novel idea because Em didn’t want confetti!

At the front of the gatehouse got some bridal party shots and seriousness really isn’t this group of people’s thing! We then wandered around to the fields and got some more relaxed shots and couple portraits before going to the barn for speeches and the meal.

I asked Em and James if they’d like to head to the driveway for some further couple portrays but Em was so tired with all of the excitement of the day they just wanted to chill with their guests awhile before their first dance and boogying the night away!

I don’t know how I can ever thank this family for their friendship and kindness, but thank you all.

Thank you also to Pentney Abbey events for looking after me so well on, what I hope, will be my first visit of many.

Cambridge College Wedding

The Friday before Christmas was a beautiful day to wander the garden at Emmanuel College, that means so much to Christine and Matthew. After a while walking, talking and having some couple portraits, it was time for them to read the personal vows that had written to each other. There wasn’t a breath of wind, everything was still as they exchanged words. A special time.
