SOUTH FARM WEDDING | HERTFORDSHIRE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

Gemma & Dan hadn't really planned to have a photographer at their wedding but my wedding fair stand happened to be positioned next to the bar ...... this, as it turned out, was a very important factor! As Dan & his future Best Man got the drinks in, Gemma started to look at my albums and chat with me.

Whilst discovering our mutual love of craft ale and cats, they decided they actually really loved my natural documentary style of photography. I was totally made up when they asked me to be their photographer.

We waited until just a month before their wedding, to ensure bluebells were in flower, for their country park engagement shoot. Gemma & Dan melted me at every turn! They are so happy and complete in each other's company, I spent almost 2 hours documenting their love for each other.

On the day of their wedding I arrived at South Farm to find Gemma & Dan chatting to Sam, Gemma's make up artist, while watching the most recent additions to the venue - piglets!

I do have a soft spot for weddings when the couple spend time together during the build up to their day. I can't quite put my finger on what changes but something definitely does ........ maybe it calms the nerves and adds to the excitement?

Their morning was spent greeting close friends and family and adding the finishing touches to the venue.

As the day meandered on I headed to the Bridal Suite to catch up with Gemma having her hair and make up done. I was blown away with her shoe choice! You just have to scroll down to check out her Alice in Wonderland shoes by Irregular Choice.

Once ready Gemma walked across the lawn and down the aisle to meet Dan, who was waiting to escort her to the summer house where they would become husband and wife.

Armed with lots of confetti guests showered Gemma and Dan as the newlyweds made their way to the front of the house for drinks - but not before being covered with confetti once more!

Groups photos and couple portraits followed, ahead of afternoon tea, speeches, cake cut and a super smoochy first dance.

Thank you Gemma and Dan for trusting me, being you and for sharing your special day with me.
