I’m Heather. A food loving, travel devotee living in the Cambridgeshire countryside with my hubby, Andy and our two cats, Buster and Blu.
Who you’ll get
After six years of growing and developing my wedding photography business, I know exactly what I can offer you; me. I know it sounds obvious but, I’m not really ‘cool’ or ‘trendy’! What I am is relaxed and straight forward, a heart on my sleeve kind of person. Couples tell me I put them at ease and I make creating natural looking images easy. It makes me proud to give you emotive photographs, that will stand the test of time and still look great when you show future generations.
What I’m doing when I’m not photographing weddings
I love discovering new places both here and overseas. We love campervanning, backpacking and staying in character cottages. I love cheese and red wine, music and dancing, yoga and Scrabble, hats and boots, steam trains and the 1940’s. I love walking and I’m slowly warming to cycling (I couldn’t ride a push bike until I was 9 years old and fell off as recently as last year, no wine involved)! In July 2016 me and Andy, along with four good friends climbed Mount Snowden. For a girl from the flat Fenland that is quite an achievement!
I’ve had a husband for almost five years now, I know what it’s like to plan a wedding!
I married the man that built me a desk for my office at a moments notice, shares responsibility for our cats and keeps me in general good humour! I cannot explain to you how much fun you will have at your wedding. It is a fabulous, adrenalin filled day; it is truly awesome! Exploring life with Andy is the most incredible journey, which I love.
When I became a wedding photographer
In late 2013, after 20 years of working in finance, I was made redundant and grabbed that opportunity to leap into the world of full time wedding photography. To now be in a profession that I love and enables me to stretch my creativity makes me unbelievably happy. The financial background gave me great organisational skills, which in turn, allows me to help you with aspects of your wedding planning.
I had been an aspiring nature and landscape photographer when I came to realise how much I enjoy photographing people. It’s the moments that matter and I photograph from my heart.
My interest in photography escalated whilst travelling in North and South Africa, Croatia, Denmark, Vietnam and here in our beautiful British Isles. Fine tuning the art of catching an expression, the desired light and the emotion as I wandered towns, cities and outlying villages in search of inspiration became a part of who I am.
