Hockwold Hall, Norfolk wedding, complete with alpacas!
Bride and groom with Alpacas

Sunny September celebrations

I had zero idea of what an incredible day Jenny & Michael had planned when they first contacted me to photograph their quirky and colourful celebration day at Hockwold Hall. What I had been trusted with, was the secret they were keeping about their 4 legged ring bearers! The look on their guests faces when the groomsman and bride’s brother appeared with them was priceless, the excitement for Jenny & Mike was very apparent and in her words “today is all about the alpacas”!

Jenny got ready on site with her lovely family popping in to see her throughout the morning.  Just before she put her dress on she said ‘oh, I’d better make my bouquet”! I think you’ll all agree her floristry skills are pretty awesome.

While Ashley added the finishing touches to Jenny’s make up and I was taking some family photographs, Mike was happily welcoming guests. The ceremony area at Hockwold Hall is very tranquil, set inside hedgerows it’s sheltered and magical. It’s lovely slow walk through the gardens, from the house, to the gated entrance towards your guests and the one you’ll marry.

Celebrant Caroline was so bubbly and encouraged the wedding party to join in with clapping, cheering and wishing the couple lots of love and best wishes for their future together. I adore a relaxed celebrant ceremony, it give people the freedom to truly make the day their own.

Nestled within 50 acres of parkland this country retreat is stunning

There’s so much space and little secret gardens to explore at Hockwold Hall, the lawn to the rear of the property is wonderful for your drinks reception. Jenny and Mike’s guests were able to sit and relax on the sunny patio and wander the extensive grounds.

Alpacas, true guests of honour and ring bearers

The moment Jenny and Mike had been waiting for; their time alone with the alpacas! Honestly, I have never seen two people so excited for something, their adoration for them was so endearing. We enjoyed half an hour wandering the grounds with them and their owners, who were always on hand for help and advice, photographing them all was an absolute hoot.

The garden marquee and dance area

The marquee at this venue is very spacious and there was plenty of room for the brightly ribboned chairs and balloons adorning the tables. The beautiful wooden floor and fully serviced bar completed a fabulous reception area.

It was great to see Jenny up there with Mike making everyone laugh, along with the best man, groomsman and the father of the bride.

Dancing here is super atmospheric thanks to the designated dance space.

Cambridge College Wedding

The Friday before Christmas was a beautiful day to wander the garden at Emmanuel College, that means so much to Christine and Matthew. After a while walking, talking and having some couple portraits, it was time for them to read the personal vows that had written to each other. There wasn’t a breath of wind, everything was still as they exchanged words. A special time.
