Elton Hall Peterborough Wedding
Bride and groom in golden hour at Elton Hall

Elton Hall Wedding Photography

A glorious summer wedding reception held outdoors at Elton Hall in Peterborough. Chloe and Ben had the perfect wedding day and I’m privileged they invited me to be their photographer. After marrying in the beautiful Church of All Saints in the quaint village of Elton, Chloe and Ben hopped aboard Vivien, the vintage fire engine, for their short trip to Elton Hall.

LOOKING FOR RELAXED PHOTOS FOR YOUR ELTON HALL WEDDING?

This privately owned Hall hosts only five weddings per year, which makes it a pretty special place to get married. The Orangery and the Grand Billiard Room are both licenced for indoor ceremonies, holding 15 and 70 guests respectively. For larger weddings, a marquee may be erected in the parkland next to the Hall. If you are getting married at this exclusive venue, please, get in touch I would love to photograph your special day.

SUMMER WEDDING AT ELTON HALL

From the moment you approach Elton Hall via the tree lined driveway, you know it is special. The first impression it will give to your guests, as they arrive to celebrate with you, is one of grandeur. The gardens have been transformed over the past few decades, making it a photographers paradise. I didn’t know where to take my camera next! There are so many stunning areas for me to capture your group shots, confetti photos and your couple portraits. The flower garden, with its wisteria walk, is a particular favourite of mine. Another of my favourites, is the Orangery and it’s garden. With its Gothic facade, the building is filled with natural light and is well suited for intimate micro wedding ceremonies. Its garden transports you to the Mediterranean, full of colour and exotic planting, it is perfect for mingling with your family and friends in the summer sunshine.

DRINKS RECEPTION IN THE HALL GARDENS

Chloe and Ben’s ‘cocktail hour’ provided me with so many opportunities of natural compositions, for photos of guests enjoying champagne and gin within the gardens of Elton Hall. It was a very hot day, but this was ideal, it meant the day could be enjoyed outdoors and the guests congregated in the grounds as they waited for the newlyweds to arrive. Family group shots were taken in the flower garden and the couple’s nieces and nephews stole the show! The flower girls in their cute dresses and pretty flower crowns couldn’t wait to hide under Auntie Chloe’s wedding dress.

ELTON HALL

The Hall provides a wonderful backdrop for a wide angle group photograph of everyone together. Once the guests were on their way from the gardens to the luxury marquee, we stayed behind to take a stroll in the soft low sunshine. Ben looked very stylish in his black tie ensemble and Chloe was radiant with her trademark red lipstick and Justin Alexander bridal gown. The steps of the Hall and the walls of the cottage garden provide wonderful variety for alternative angles and focal lengths.

THE MARQUEE IN ELTON HALL PARKLAND

The marquee had been styled beautifully and was awash with gorgeous wedding flowers and foliage, even their exquisite four tier cake was adorned. I can safely say I laughed and cried my way through the speeches! First up was Sue, mother of the bride, with witty and emotional words for the happy couple. Maid of Honour Emma fought back the tears (of laugher and emotion) to deliver an incredibly funny and heartfelt speech. Ben and his Best Man did manage to get some words in, before the lady of the moment, the bride herself thanked those who had helped make their dreams come true.

The wedding breakfast was supplied by the bride’s parents catering company and the dessert table was the best I have ever seen! After eating, the cake was cut, the first dance marvelled at and I left this marquee full of wonderful people to party late into the evening.

Thank you to Lucy for assisting me, Vivienne of Elton Hall for your help and the biggest thanks of all to Chloe and Ben for asking me to capture you day after I met your wonderful parents at a wedding last year. Thank you Sue and Rob.

Cambridge College Wedding

The Friday before Christmas was a beautiful day to wander the garden at Emmanuel College, that means so much to Christine and Matthew. After a while walking, talking and having some couple portraits, it was time for them to read the personal vows that had written to each other. There wasn’t a breath of wind, everything was still as they exchanged words. A special time.
