I adore everything about Chippenham Park and my heart always skips a beat when I get a booking for this beautiful manor house. It has a bridal suite of dreams and I cannot even begin to tell you how amazing the light is. Lovely big windows looking out across the grounds make it a natural light dream for photographers and make up artists alike.
I’m so excited to share with you Erika and Callum’s Chippenham Park wedding. A day filled with lots of laughter, some tears and a lot of mickey-taking by Erika when Callum got overcome with emotion and couldn’t read the vows he’d written to her. Did she hold his hand and look at him with love and support? No! She laughed, she laughed a lot! Another moment to look out for, is Erika’s lovely friend Emily, who upon seeing the bride in her dress was definitely blown away.

Wedding Ceremony in the Old Ballroom
This lovely couple had hoped to marry outside in the Summer House by the lake but the weather had different ideas. This is where Chippenham Park holds a massive ace card – your indoor celebrations are held in the most beautiful room, complete with piano!
Erika pretty much laughed her way through the whole ceremony, even when Callum got choked up reading his vows to her! Their best men and bridesmaids had huge smiles and little Nora looked on quietly as her Mummy and Daddy said ‘I do’.
Sadly, Erika’s dad wasn’t there to help them celebrate, a photo of him next to Erika’s mum and being given away by her sister, there was so much love in the room and it felt like he was proudly looking down on everyone.
The additional advantage to the ballroom is, if it does rain, your fabulous wedding planner Beccy and her team are happy to move the ceremony chairs out and it is a great space for your family group photographs and couples portraits.
Drinks reception and confetti
I love this time of your wedding day. For me, being a documentary style photographer, this is absolute gold! At this point I want you to immerse yourself in the congratulations, hugs and well wishes from your guests. Soak up the atmosphere, be present and enjoy every canapé!
The rose terrace is the perfect place for this. After collecting a glass of fizz or Pimm’s on your way out through the stunning conservatory, you can enjoy the views from the house across the acres of gardens and parkland.
Confetti can take place anywhere at Chippenham and today we chose the beautiful terrace. Erika’s friends were determined she’d get a good smattering of petals!
Family photographs and couple portraits
Chippenham Park is a versatile venue that has a variety of places you can have your images taken. We’ll stay close to your guests, after confetti, to capture your family photographs. I recommend you choose around six to eight of these to include the people that mean the most to you, who you’d like looking back off the wall at you and to be included in your wedding album.
We’ll then wander further afield so you can have a good old catch up with each other; it’ll be the first time you be alone as Mr & Mrs (well, almost alone, I’m very discreet)! We will spend around twenty minutes exploring the gardens and finding the best light and backdrop for your couple photos.
The Lakeside Marquee
A gentle stroll away is the spacious marquee, with two walls of windows, this is a light and airy space for your wedding cake and table styling to look it’s very best.
Erika and Callum’s guest number was around 55 people and this gave ample room between the tables for me to wander and capture people’s reactions to the speeches, as well as the speakers.
A lovely touch was the sweetheart table for Erika, Callum and Nora to enjoy being together for the wedding breakfast.
Into the night
This dance floor, in contrast to everything else Chippenham, is dark and glittery! It gives striking photographs and if you do anything, take a tip from this couple and hire some light up letters. Just look how incredible it all looks together.
Erika and Callum’s first dance was a bit of a family affair when Nora asked to join them, followed by a mother and daughter dance and sister Molly got in on the action too.
